</details>

#### 3. No Bug Abuse, Harassment, or Scamming

Abusing bugs, harassing players, or scamming others for money or goods is prohibited. This includes exploiting glitches for gain, attempting to lag or crash the server, false sales, item impersonation, non-payment for agreed trades, price manipulation, stalking, building to annoy, false reporting, targeting vulnerable players, or teleporting players into traps/PvP zones with intent to harm.

{% hint style="info" %}
TL;DR: Report bugs to staff instead of abusing them. Don’t harass, swindle, or steal from players. Avoid actions intended to disrupt or deceive.
{% endhint %}

*Note*: Scamming applies only to in-game trades and items of monetary value. Non-monetary agreements (e.g., not joining a town) are not enforceable and are at players’ discretion.

<details>

<summary>G3 Offense Penalties</summary>

Punishments are determined by staff discretion due to the variety of offenses. A temporary 14-day ban will be issued initially, subject to adjustment after review.

</details>

#### 4. No Punishment Evasion

Circumventing an active ban through the use of alternative accounts, VPNs, or proxies is strictly prohibited. Similarly, bypassing an active mute - whether through alternative accounts, VPNs, proxies, or in-game methods such as signs, books, or block-building - is strictly prohibited.

<details>

<summary>G4 Offense Penalties</summary>

Punishments for evading a punishment using an alternative account will usually result in double the original punishment length for both the Main & Alternative Account.

</details>

#### 5. No Malicious Behavior

Any behavior intended to harm or disrupt the server will result in severe punishment. This includes, but is not limited to: spamming offensive content or slurs, leaking private or confidential information, and trading in-game items or currency for external benefit through any means other than the official CYT Store.

If the behavior continues, report it to staff via [Discord](https://discord.gg/cyt) or by emailing *<support@mangostudios.uk>* if you do not use Discord.

Mute evasion in any chat channel is strictly prohibited and will be punished regardless of whether it is reported.

Attempting to spread harmful misinformation, rumours, or gossip about players outside of CYT platforms (such as in external Discord servers) with the intent to isolate, target, or harass them in-game may also result in punishment.

Personal disputes that do not violate CYT rules should remain private. Any genuine rule-breaking concerns should be reported directly to staff.

# Find a Town

If you're new to the server or just looking for a change, there's a few options you have to find a town to join.

### Option 1: Town RTP

**Commands:**

```
/town rtp - teleport to a random plot.
/town rtp -ignore - teleport without a cost warning.
/town rtp -autojoin - auto join the town while you teleport to it.
```

**This option will teleport you to a town that fits the following criteria:**

* You are not an outlaw of the town
* The town is public
* The town is open to join
* The town has a plot free for you to claim (as that's where it will teleport you)

{% hint style="info" %}
**For town mayors:** Should you meet the above criteria, you'll automatically be added to the random teleport pool
{% endhint %}

You can then type `/town join <town name>` followed by `/plot claim` to claim the plot you were teleported on to if you like the look of the town.

### Option 2: Look through open towns manually

**Command:** `/opentowns`

If you don't fancy the random selector, you can always opt to look at towns yourself, after all nobody knows what you want better than you.

Type `/opentowns` to view a list of all of the server's available open towns.\
You can then do `/town spawn <town>` for each of them to check them out.

### Option 3: Check the Discord Server

**Command:** `/discord`

A lot of towns are advertised in our discord as a way to attract new members, check out our #towny-recruiting channel for any you like the look of.

{% hint style="info" %}
The towns shown here do not have to be open so you may not be able to teleport or view them immediately. Messaging the OP may be required.
{% endhint %}

### Option 4: Ask in the Server Chat

If all else fails or you prefer this method, go ahead - we won't judge.

# Creating a Town

### How to make your Town

#### **Requirements:**

£10000 Cash (to make the town)\
Around £5000-10000 extra cash for claiming land and initial upkeep

#### **Step 1: Making the town**

Stand where you want the town spawn to be, and type `/t new <town name>` (spaces are allowed, but they'll be replaced by underscores once submitted)

{% hint style="info" %}
Towns must be at least **12 chunks away** from each other or you will be unable to create your town. This also affects creating outposts and claiming land.
{% endhint %}

#### **Step 2: Funding your town**

You've created your town, but now we need to fund it to make sure it doesn't go bankrupt! Do `/t deposit <amount>` - we recommend around £7500-£10000 to get started.

This is important because your town will need to pay daily upkeep based on the amount of land you have claimed, it currently is £10 per townblock per day. You can view your town size and upkeep at any time on `/town`.

Daily Upkeep is taken at a certain time daily, you can do `/towny time` to see a countdown. Money in the town bank is also used for buying claim blocks and claiming chunks.

#### **Step 3: Claiming land**

Land is done on a chunk basis, to see the chunk visualiser, press F3+G (or CMD+F3+G on Mac). Claimed chunks are known within Towny as townblocks. You can claim as many townblocks as your "Town Size: 1/X" shows in **/t**. You will already have 1 claimed as that is the town's homeblock.

To claim, stand in a chunk next to the one you've just claimed (your home block). You have to claim chunks that are already directly connected to your town unless you're making an outpost (a town claim away from your main town area, as explained in Step 4).

Simply type `/t claim` in the chunk you're in to claim it (this will cost £250 to do each time), and repeat this as many times as you like.

If you unable to claim anymore and you have enough money in the town bank, you might have reached your Town Size limit. This can be increased by joining a nation, or by buying bonus plots with `/t buy bonus <amount>` - these cost £500 to purchase, and then £250 to claim.

#### **Step 4: Outposts**

If you want to claim an area that isn't directly connected to your town, you'll need to make an outpost, which costs £15000. Stand in the chunk you'd like the outpost plot to be in (the area you'll teleport to), and type `/t claim outpost`. Once you've claimed the outpost chunk, you can continue claiming around it with `/t claim`!

#### **Step 5: Taxes**

You may want to charge your residents tax to help you pay for your town's upkeep and claiming. There are two options you can choose for setting tax of a town.

The first is a daily fixed fee (the most common), which is the same for everyone in the town every 24 hours - you can set this with `/t set taxes <amount>`.

The second option is a percentage of each resident's balance, with the maximum being 10% of the balance of £10000 (whichever is lower). You can toggle this using /t toggle taxpercent, but be warned that this may discourage people from joining your town.

Taxes are taken at the same time as daily upkeep, and residents that cannot afford the tax (cash) will be automatically kicked from the town. Town staff and VIP residents are not taxed.

### Outpost Limits

| Rank | Outpost Limit |
| ---- | ------------- |
| I    | 0             |
| II   | 1             |
| IV   | 5             |
| VI   | 10            |
| IX   | 25            |

# Plot Types

We've had a few questions on what the plot types mean, so this is here to clean that up!

To set a plot to a type, you can do **/plot set \<type name>**. The **\<type name>**'s are listed below.

**Arena** - PVP is on all the time in arena plots as well as friendly-fire damage. Town health regen is also disabled in arena plots.

**Bank** - A plot designed for **/t deposit** & **/t withdraw** commands. Not required on CYT as we don't force the use of these for these commands.

**Embassy** - Allows outsiders from other towns to claim a plot in your town.

**Farm** - Allows players to kill animals, break and place crops, leaves and bee hives.

**Inn** - An Inn plot allows anyone to use a bed to set their **/res spawn** and spawn on death. The Inn plot will still deny a player who is in a nation declared as an enemy by your nation.

**Jail** - Mayors and police can jail and unjail residents by typing **/town toggle jail \<player>**. Jailed residents will be sent to a jail plot if one exists.

**Outpost** - A town claim away from your main town area.

**Shop** - Allows the use of Chest Shops to be built on these.

**Wilds** - Designates a semi-protected wilderness plot, where trees, flowers, mushrooms etc can be broken but all other blocks cannot.

### Identifying a Plot

To find out what type a plot is, you first need to know what a plot is. **1 plot = 1 chunk**.

You can enable viewing chunk borders by pressing **F3+G** on Windows, and **CMD+F3+G** on Mac. Then you'll need to do **/towny map big** and that'll pop up with a list of plots (chunks) nearby and a key to identifying them.

For example, a green $ would indicate a plot for sale in your town that you can buy, whilst a white $ would indicate a plot that's for sale in a different town.

To purchase a plot, simply stand on a plot that is for sale and type **/plot claim**.

# Upkeep, Debt & Bankruptcy

## Town Upkeep and Taxes

### Town Upkeep

**Town Upkeep** plays a big part in the economy on the server, and is required to keep everything balanced - it gives you a good reason to keep grinding and making money.

<table><thead><tr><th>Town Rank</th><th>Daily Upkeep</th><th width="200">Member Requirement</th><th data-hidden>Upkeep Modifier</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Default</td><td>£15 per townblock</td><td>N/A</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Ruins</td><td>£15 per townblock</td><td>0</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Settlement</td><td>£15 per townblock</td><td>1</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Hamlet</td><td>£15 per townblock</td><td>5</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Village</td><td>£15 per townblock</td><td>15</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Town</td><td>£15 per townblock</td><td>30</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Large Town</td><td>£15 per townblock</td><td>45</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>City</td><td>£15 per townblock</td><td>60</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Large City</td><td>£15 per townblock</td><td>75</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>Metropolis</td><td>£15 per townblock</td><td>100</td><td></td></tr></tbody></table>

### Town Taxes

Most towns have taxes to help the mayor pay for their town's upkeep - you can view a town's taxes by using **/t \<town name>** or **/towny prices** in-game. When the money is taken from your balance, it is put directly into the Town Bank.

{% hint style="info" %}
Town Taxes are taken daily at **9pm UTC** from the Town Bank.
{% endhint %}

As the mayor of the town, you can choose how much you want to tax your residents using **/t set taxes \<amount>**, or you can use **/t toggle taxpercent** to set tax to be a percentage of your resident's balance.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Using **percentage tax** may discourage players from joining your town, as players with a high balance may be excessively taxed.
{% endhint %}

### Bankruptcy and Ruined Towns

To prevent your town from going bankrupt, you must have enough money in your Town Bank to pay your town's upkeep each day. If you cannot pay this, your town will enter a **bankrupt state** and the bank will go into the negatives. In this state, you will not be able to make any adjustments to your town until you put enough money in the bank to reach a positive balance again.

Your town's **debt cap** (how far negative the balance can go) is the combined price of all your claimed chunks, outposts and plots - it is limited to a maximum of £100,000.

If you hit your debt cap, your town will go into a 'Ruined' state for 72 hours. For the first 24 hours it will not be reclaimable (purely raidable) then for the final 48 hours it will be reclaimable for **£10,000**. Type `/t reclaim` to do so.

If it is not reclaimed within the final 48 hours, the town will be deleted.

## Nation Upkeep and Taxes

Nation Upkeep is much more simple than Town Upkeep. Your nation will pay **£750 per day per town in the nation**. You can set taxes that each town in the nation will pay by doing **/n set taxes \<amount>** - there is no option to do tax percent as a nation.

# Auction House

{% hint style="info" %}
In-Game Command: **/ah**
{% endhint %}

<details>

<summary>Knowing Prices</summary>

Trying to think of what to sell an item for?\
It's difficult, so we made a custom plugin that averages prices out.

**Holding an item**\
If you're wanting to sell an item that you're holding, simply type **/iworth hand** and the plugin will return the average price of it. If it hasn't been sold before, this sadly won't be of any help.

**Want to search? No problem.**\
This plugin also has a search feature! Simply type **/iworth search \<item-name>** This works with custom items, crate keys, basically everything.

**Want to just look at every item ever sold? No problem.**\
Simply type **/iworth all** and there you go!

**How does it work?**\
It takes all sales of all items from both Auction House and Chest Shops and averages it out.

</details>

### **What is the Auction House?**

The Auction House is the best place to sell items that you may not want to make an entire shop or Player Warp for - to access it, simply type **/ah** in-game to see a list of all current listings. You can sell in-game items for either Cash or CYT Coins, simply add either **cash** or **coins** on the end of the command when you sell an item.

{% hint style="warning" %}
If you want to sell something on the Auction House, you will have to pay **£100** to put the item on there, as well as a **15% tax** on the item once it is sold (the same as chest shops)
{% endhint %}

### **How does it work?**

Simply hold what you're trying to sell, and type **/ah sell \<price> \[currency]**; a confirmation will appear in chat letting you know about the £100 fee, and you'll have to type the command again to confirm you're happy to spend that cost. Auctions stay on **/ah** for 48h until going into the **"Expired Auctions"** section

### **Can I collect my expired items?**

Yes! Type **/ah** in-game, and click on the beacon labelled **"My Auctions"**. Afterwards, click on the enchanted clock labelled **"Expired Auctions"** and all your expired items will be there - click them with a free inventory slot to retrieve them!

### **How do I get more slots?**

Slots are obtained from purchasing donator ranks (click [**here**](https://store.craftyourtown.com/) to visit the store, or use **/store** in-game) or ranking up in-game using **/ranks**.

### What is the Money and XP Limit?

From when you begin actions of your joined jobs, a limit is set. For money, this is £60,000 per 24 hours and for Jobs XP, this is 40,000 per 24 hours. Check this limit and whether or not you are close it to by typing **/jobs stats**.

### How many Jobs can I have?

At Rank I, you are able to join one job. At Rank III, two jobs. At Rank V, three jobs. At Rank VII, four jobs. At rank IX, five jobs.

### How do I leave a Job?

To leave a job, type **/jobs leave \<job name>** or to leave all joined jobs, type **/jobs leaveall**.

{% hint style="danger" %}

# Fishing

{% hint style="info" %}
In-Game Command: **/fish menu** or **Shift-Right-Click** with a fishing rod in your hand.
{% endhint %}

### **What is PyroFishing?**

PyroFishing is a custom plugin that revamps Minecraft fishing. It adds new fish, custom fishing enchantments called **Augments**, a unique fishing-specific currency called **Entropy**, and custom mobs like **Crabs**.

### What are the new fish?

Currently, there are 162 custom fish divided into 6 tiers of rarity.

* **Bronze**
* **Silver**
* **Gold**
* **Diamond**
* **Platinum**
* **Mythical**

All fish are currently available to be caught in all biomes and require no bait. To see a complete list of fish, their rarities, required baits, and what biomes they are located in, use **/fish codex**.

### What is Entropy?

Entropy is a currency used for Fishing. Entropy can be used to buy upgrades and augments.

You can obtain Entropy by catching custom fish, gutting fish in the Gutting Station (**/fish gut**), completing Deliveries (**/fish deliveries**), using Entropy Crystals (items that store Entropy) or as a reward from various places such as the [Crates](https://github.com/CraftYourTown/cyt-wiki/blob/main/how-to-play/content/broken-reference/README.md) here on CYT!

### What are the Augments?

As explained above, Augments are Custom Enchantments specific to fishing rods.

{% hint style="info" %}
In-Game Command: **/fish augment** and **/fish augments**
{% endhint %}

There are two ways you can obtain augments

Firstly, you can uncover a Mystery Augment, an item obtained as a prize from Daily Rewards, Crates, Envoys, and many more places. A Mystery Augment will turn into any of the 12 augments available!

Secondly, you can create augments by throwing the required ingredients for a given augment into a full cauldron and hitting it with a fishing rod. The items will combine and the augment will have been crafted.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Be sure that you have the required fishing level (**/fish stats**), entropy (**/fish stats**), and the exact ingredients when making your augment!
{% endhint %}

To apply an augment to your fishing rod, use the command **/fish augment**, place your fishing rod in the left slot (this can be done by shift-clicking the rod in your inventory), and the augment you wish to put onto the rod next to it. Then click the green panel to the right, which will confirm the combination and give you back your fishing rod with the newly added augment!

<figure><img src="/files/e7N66KMGqrd1iBZX2Q73" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

There are 12 different Augments available to be crafted and all can be applied to your fishing rod at once, to view these augments in-game, use the command **/fish augments**. They're also listed here:

# Magic Scrolls

Magic Scrolls are consumable items that permanently enchant your gear with powerful stat bonuses. Right-click a scroll onto any compatible piece of equipment to apply it. Each attribute has a cap - once reached, no further scrolls of that type can be applied to that item.

## How It Works

1. Hold the item you want to enchant in a slot
2. Pick up the scroll with your cursor
3. Right-click the scroll onto the item
4. The attribute is applied instantly and permanently

## How To Obtain

Attribute scrolls are obtainable through [Tower](/how-to-play/content/towers) Crates

# Marriage

<figure><img src="/files/v9ibk7vOetCHPatsUlE8" alt=""><figcaption><p>/warp Church</p></figcaption></figure>

## What is marriage?

Marriage is a purely ceremonial in-game event triggered by players in our church or in their own building.

### How do you get married?

To get married, you need two players and a Priest (all must be within 20 blocks of each other). The priest should then run `/marry <player1> <player2>` and then needs to select the positions where player1 and player2 will stand by typing `/marry init pos1` and `/marry init pos2` . The Priest will then be instructed to repeat a short script and the players to marry will have to say 'I do' or 'I do not' when prompted.

### How do you become a Priest?

To become a Priest, you need to be an Obsidian (Towny) or Dolphin (SMP) rank member. You can then head to `/warp church` and speak to the Priest on the left to be sworn in.

## Perks & Commands

### Priest Commands

`/marry <player1> <player2>` - Initiate a marriage

`/marry init pos1` - Sets the position for player1 to stand during a marriage

`/marry init pos2` - Sets the position for player2 to stand during a marriage

### Married Player Commands & Perks

`/marry vault` - Opens shared player vault

`/marry divorce` - Divorce your spouse

`/marry tp` - Teleport to your spouse (no confirmations needed)

`/marry gift` - Gift the item in your hand to your spouse

`/marry carry` - Carry your spouse ontop of you

Kissing - Sneak and right-click your spouse to kiss

Regeneration 1 when in 10 block radius of each other

# Miscellaneous

### **Armor Stand Editing**

To get started, place an Armour Stand on the ground and hold a flint in your hand. Look away from the armour stand and right click. In doing so, a GUI is shown that lists a bunch of ways to edit your armour stand.

Some of the key features, such as making the arms visible, removing the base plate and toggling the visibility of the armour stand can be found on the right hand side. In the center, you will find options on which part of the armour stand to move. On the left hand side, you can find premade poses as well as save custom poses for future use. Lastly, on the top row, there are options as to how you want to move the armour stand, using either right or left click. The only limit is your imagination!

If you have multiple armour stands bunched together, and you cannot seem to make the right one move, you can press the key used to toggle between your main and offhand, which will switch which armour stand you are editing!

### **Parkour**

Check out and complete our parkours at `/warp Parkour` daily!

### **Elevators**

Are you tired of using ladders or stairs to get up and down? Worry no more! One of the features of CYT is Elevators! They are very simple to use; place an iron block on one floor, and place an iron block in the same position on another floor, and there you have it! You can place as many iron blocks as you’d like, as long as they’re on top of each other, they will work!

# Towers

{% hint style="warning" %}
This page is outdated and is awaiting updates
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
In-Game Commands: **/warp Towers** & **/tower**
{% endhint %}

### What are the Towers?

The Towers consist of the Angel, Demon, and Sculk Towers, three unique PVE (Player versus Environment) mini-games within CYT's Towny.

To progress within each tower, you need to kill the boss of the level. There are currently **5** levels and each get more difficult with more mobs, damage, knockback resistance and health. Within each level there are **5** waves of 'Minions' that will spawn to help defend the boss, if the boss is killed prior to all waves being completed, the waves are stopped for that level.

Once the boss is killed, the minions will despawn and you'll progress to the next level.

### Good to know

Here are some things you'll want to keep in mind:

1. The boss's health will scale based on playercount and will also decrease when a player dies
2. The amount of minions that spawn will scale based on playercount (only on waves)
3. Everyone in the arena gets drops from the boss every **10%** the boss's health decreases, these go directly into your inventory
4. Each level you progress, the amount of drops from both minions and the boss increases by **5%**
5. There can only be one instance of each tower running at a time, if it is in progress you must wait until it is empty. It will broadcast when it is available
6. Waves occur every **15** seconds with increasing mob counts

# Wizard

{% hint style="info" %}
In-game command: **/warp Wizard**
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/5olakDdpLR4YKDR7ejmT" alt="The Wizard GUI"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## What is the Wizard?

The Wizard is your go-to to upgrade your heirlooms, acquire better tools and get rid of the useless ones hanging around.

### What is an Heirloom?

An heirloom is a tool that randomly generates with a unique name, enchants, modifiers, and has a respective tier. You will likely stumble on lots of these, although the higher tier ones are rare and do not drop naturally. You cannot pick what the item type is, nor it's enchants, modifiers, or name.

<figure><img src="/files/BkA8hIYuVDbOU7tCRSP1" alt="A crossbow heirloom example"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Scrapping Heirlooms

All heirlooms can be scrapped into their respective scrap form, for example a Common Heirloom will become a Common Scrap. You can use several of these to upgrade to a higher tier scrap, which when obtained multiple, can be used to purchase Heirlooms. You can also use these to buy the same tier should you not wish to upgrade them.

### Upgrading Scraps

Scraps can be upgraded to the next tier to allow you to then purchase the higher tiered Heirlooms. Below is a table of what's needed.

| Tier      | Next Tier | Required          |
| --------- | --------- | ----------------- |
| Common    | Uncommon  | 10 Common Scraps  |
| Uncommon  | Rare      | 8 Uncommon Scraps |
| Rare      | Epic      | 6 Rare Scraps     |
| Epic      | Legendary | 5 Epic Scraps     |
| Legendary | N/A       | N/A               |

### Trading Scraps to Heirlooms

Scraps can easily be converted into an Heirloom. Below is a table of what's required.

| Tier      | Required           |
| --------- | ------------------ |
| Common    | 10 Common Scraps   |
| Uncommon  | 8 Uncommon Scraps  |
| Rare      | 7 Rare Scrapas     |
| Epic      | 6 Epic Scraps      |
| Legendary | 5 Legendary Scraps |

### How to use the GUI

<figure><img src="/files/iTkanTAHA10qDYXqzTBU" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

To use the above GUI, all you simply need to do is place what you're looking to trade in the left blue box and press the green checkmark. Do not place anything in the green box as this is the output.

It will not let you scrap or trade anything you're not meant to, and will inform you if the quantity is incorrect.
